Privacy
A plain-language starting policy that should be reviewed before launch to ensure it matches the final deployment.
Publishville.com does not require visitor accounts for ordinary browsing. We collect information you choose to provide through forms, such as book submissions, advertising inquiries, accessibility reports, and contact messages.
Information we may collect
Form submissions may include names, email addresses, publisher or organization details, book metadata, retailer links, optional author biographies and official author website/social-media links, optional book-cover files and associated rights/credit information, and other information supplied voluntarily. Approved author-profile information may be displayed publicly on Publishville.com. To reduce spam and abuse, the site may temporarily use a privacy-preserving hash derived from an IP address for rate limiting rather than storing the raw address for that purpose.
Validation codes and bulk submissions
Publishville.com may issue validation codes to authors and publishers whose identity or authority has been reviewed. The site stores a secure hash of each code rather than the reusable secret itself, and may retain code-use history, timestamps, and privacy-preserving network hashes for abuse prevention and audit purposes. Bulk metadata and cover files are processed only for editorial review and site operation.
Manage My Books and temporary access
Validated authors and publishers may use temporary, accountless management sessions to suggest changes to their books. If optional email confirmation is enabled, Publishville.com creates a short-lived one-time confirmation token and sends it to the verified contact email. Proposed metadata, edition, retailer-link, and cover changes remain pending until manual review.
External API-assisted import
When enabled, Publishville.com may use third-party product/catalog APIs, such as Amazon Creators API, to help a validated author or publisher locate and stage basic book information. API-derived data and temporary image URLs are handled according to the applicable provider terms and are not treated as permanent rights-cleared cover files. Directly uploaded, rights-authorized covers are preferred for long-term display.
Uploaded cover images
Unapproved cover files may be stored privately while a submission is under review. Approved covers may be moved to publicly accessible site storage for display on book pages. Rejected or withdrawn unapproved files may be deleted. Publishville.com may retain associated rights and audit information as needed to document the submission and review process.
Analytics and link measurement
Publishville.com may maintain internal aggregate counts for retailer clicks, advertisement impressions/clicks, searches, and content performance. If third-party analytics or cookies are added later, this policy will be updated before they are enabled.
Affiliate links
Some outbound retailer links may contain affiliate tracking information added by Publishville.com. Retailers may process information under their own privacy policies after you leave this site.
External author links
Author profile pages may link to official author websites and social-media accounts supplied or approved for publication. Those destinations are operated independently and have their own privacy practices.
